Lightweight and Mobile

Designed by Texel, inside and out.

The Portal isn’t just a frame and software—we design the electronics that make it reliable day after day. Our Portal boards are the quiet backbone that feeds clean power to every camera and keeps all connections stable, so the computer sees exactly what it should and scans finish without surprises. Because we designed it, we know every trace and connector, and we can service it quickly if life happens. The Portal Board is the conductor of movement and light. It tells the motors how to glide, checks safety sensors, and keeps lighting even so people look natural in 3D. Building this in-house means the hardware and software evolve together: smoother motion, faster fixes, and consistent results across Texel Portal models.

Texel Portal FX is a compact 3D scanner for full-color human scanning. It features a striking design, scans quickly, and prepares a three-dimensional digital model in just one minute.

The Texel Portal FX takes just 10 seconds to analyze a person standing on the platform. It takes one minute to assemble a realistic 3D model using data from the sensors, process it in the cloud, and display it on the screen.

The Texel Portal FX does it all for you. After registering in the system, the client steps onto the rotating platform, and the operator starts the scan with a single click. The electronics handle the rest: activating the sensors, collecting the point cloud, processing it in the Texel Portal application, building the digital 3D model, and preparing it for printing or integration with other services.

Lightweight, mobile, and compact, the Texel Portal FX fits in the trunk of a passenger car, and it takes only 15 minutes to assemble and prepare for operation. No special skills are required—just connect the power and link the column to the 3D scanner’s platform. The kit includes a powerful computer, a registration tablet, and a set of cables.

The scanner has no complex or bulky metal structures. The central element is a small platform (podium). Next to it is a column with sensors. These sensors move along the column and collect data while the person stands on the platform. As soon as the scanning process is finished, a three-dimensional digital model is built based on the data collected by the sensors.

With the Portal FX, you can generate thousands of unique 3D models every month. Install it where it will bring maximum benefit to your business. We recommend choosing high-traffic locations: shopping mall lobbies, themed exhibitions, and any events with a large number of participants and spectators. By controlling the 3D scanner’s lighting, you can enhance the wow-effect and attract even more interested customers.

We are proud of our science-intensive cloud software, Texel Cloud, developed by our team of talented computer vision scientists (backed by 6 thematic scientific publications). Our software combines several million points into a cohesive, high-precision 3D model, allowing you to get scanning results quickly with minimal resource expenditure. It preserves edges, shades, and textures, realistically rendering facial expressions, hairstyles, and clothing.

To scan complex hairstyles, dark, shiny, and very thin elements, we use the best sensors on the market. Even intricate clothing details will look realistic, and proportions will remain natural. After scanning is complete, the 3D copy can be integrated into various services—for example, AR/VR systems or a virtual fitting room.

The result is the creation of a person’s 3D copy and its transfer into a digital space. Access to the 3D copy is provided via a link sent by email or SMS.

How can you use the scan results? Offer your clients a miniature 3D-printed copy of themselves, or send the digital model to their email so they can share a link with friends on popular social networks. The 3D model can also be integrated into other services—AR/VR systems, a computer game, or a virtual fitting room.
