Introducing innovation from day one.

2024 is a pivotal year for us, marked by the release of groundbreaking technology aimed at revolutionizing the garment industry:

  • Release of Arshin software powered by our advanced algorithms to offer quick and accurate body measurements, streamlining the process for manufacturers, vendors, tailors and designers.

2023 was a year of product development, with new releases enhancing our portfolio and meeting the evolving needs of our customers:

  • Developed a new breakthrough version 3 of our digital fitting room.
  • Released a new version of the 3D scanner: Portal RX.
  • Released a new version of 3D scanning software: FreeFusion, for scanning people in free movement.

2022 marked a year of expansion and diversification, both in our market reach and technological capabilities:

  • Established an Asian division called Texel Asia.
    Received a grant for the development of population measurement technologies ($500,000 USD).
    Received a subsidy for our size recommendation solution ($150,000 USD).
    Received the second and third patents in the USA.

In 2021, our focus on innovation was rewarded with external recognition and legal protection for our unique solutions:

  • Won a grant for the development of our AI solutions for clothing size recommendations.
  • Received our first patent in the USA.

2020 was a year of financial growth, with significant investments that enabled us to explore new technological avenues:

  • Secured investments from IIDF and RSS for the development of a digital fitting room direction ($1,500,000 USD).
  • Expanded our research and development, and advanced our digital fitting room solution.

2019 – year of the major achievements for R&D department of the company:

  • Development of a new product Texel Fit for digital measurements of people. The development immediately became very popular among fashion houses and clothing brands.
  • Participation in NRF 2019 exhibition in New York with the presentation of opportunities to make precise measurements gathered crowds around the stand.
  • The famous venture fund Founders Factory invested into the company – having established a unique precedent of British fund investments into the Russian LLC, not waiting for opening of a foreign legal entity.

In 2018 the company reached a new level of work with clients and obtained external investments for development of innovative products.

  • Texel Portal 3D scanner is in the list of top full-height 3D scanners according to the independent French rating agency Aniwaa. Texel Portal 3D scanner is the only Russian scanner in the top of best 3D scanners of the world.
  • Implementation of the major joint project with VISA during FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
  • Getting the award together with VISA and London Shiraz Creative in the nomination Best Combination of Event Technologies at the ceremony Experience Design & Technology Awards in Las Vegas.
  • In June an agreement was signed with IIDF about investments into development of the company in the amount of 51.7 million RUB.
  • In November the approval of Skolkovo Fund was received about provision of the grant in the amount of 28.44 million RUB aimed exclusively at research activity of the company.
  • The company went through a rigorous selection process and participated in the corporate business accelerator weXelerate in Austria and in the first launch of the famous accelerator 500 Startups in Moscow.
  • In December an agreement was signed in London on cooperation with M&S (Marks & Spencer) and further development of the digital fitting room project.

Development of cloud-based services and computer-aided training algorithms:

  • Models of 55,000 people were collected, 1 new person is scanned every 10 minutes. The data base generated by Texel LLC is one of the largest in the world (larger than CAESAR data base). Every new 3D scan using computer-aided training algorithms confirms the human being statistic models providing for reliable result for any user.
  • Skolkovo Fund provided its grant support for research and development of new 3D scanners and algorithms, and for the opportunity to represent successful results at the largest Russian and foreign exhibitions.
  • During the year the company has many times represented domestic innovations at collective stands Made in Moscow and Made in Russia, both in Russia and abroad.

Start of active sales of 3D scanners and significant jump in the company’s development:

  • The company is supported by the federal grant of the Fund of Assistance in Small Business Development in the scientific and technical sphere.
  • Having gone through rigorous selection process, the company participates in the corporate business accelerator MEGA Accelerator and one of the best and oldest accelerators Startup Sauna.
  • The result of participation in the program of MEGA Accelerator was launch of the “Digital Fitting Room” project: in MEGA Shopping Mall the new generation 3D fitting room helps the visitor to choose clothes according to their body type, age, style, budget, fast and free.
  • In December 2016 Texel received the status of Skolkovo Innovation Center resident.
  • And it immediately received the invitation and represented the best Russian innovations at the collective Skolkovo stand in Helsinki at one of the largest European startup events – SLUSH.
  • Publications and reports about the company’s innovations are published in the largest media: Russia 1, Russia 24, Channel One, NTV, Forbes, CNBC, CNN.
  • Awards: finalist of “Startup of the Year” competition, best Russian startup according to Pioneers.
  • Texel solutions are used as 3D photo studios (Central Kids Store on Lubyanka, Ocean Park Hong Kong), virtual fitting rooms (IKEA Family Shopping Centers), fitness progress rating systems (Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation), forecasting and recommendations in cosmetology (Sephora), “Portal” into virtual reality within creative campaigns with global corporations (MasterCard, Mercedes, Coca-Cola, FOX, MARVEL, Shiseido) and some other innovative areas.

2015 was the year of significant achievements and interesting events in the company’s life:

  • Since August 2015, the office of the company is located in Moscow Technopolis – specialized territory for development of high-technology production sites.
  • In the middle of the year, Texel Portal 3D scanner entered the international market, the first foreign customers from Germany, Austria, France and Greece started using Texel 3D scanners.
  • The company won the first place in Russia in the Seedstars World competition and met the best startups form 54 countries at Seedstars Summit in Switzerland.
  • Victory at VC/DemoDay of “Metropolis Technologies” organized by Ingria business incubators at St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.
  • The company is among the top 5 innovations of Moscow at the stand of the Government of Moscow under “Open Innovations 2015”.
  • For the second year in a row, the company is among the top startup companies of according to RBTH rating.

The company develops the first serial versions of 3D scanner in 2014:

  • Actual establishment of Texel LLC – August 12, 2014.
  • Portal, the first commercially manufactured scanner, rolled off the factory production line in November.
  • The company is among the top startup companies of 2014 according to RBTH rating.

The first achievements of the company’s founders:

  • Development of a prototype scanner (USD 12,000), which delivers a high quality 3D model in 15 minutes.

Milestones before formal establishment of the company:

  • Publication of research results in Russian and foreign scientific editions.
  • Development of the first integrated applications for mobile platforms and Facebook.

Launch of the scientific project for reconstruction of a human being 3D model based on images for virtual reality systems in the Graphics and Media Lab, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
